The Musee du Quai Branly opened 23 June and I was there. Ta da! Since much time was spent waiting to get in, some photos are of those waiting with me. And because photos of the interior exhibits, dedicated to arts and civilisations of Africa, Asia, Oceanie and the Americas, were off limits, I shot mostly exteriors. The view that most intrigued passers-by was the curatorial wing, outside the Museum proper, which was planted vertically with a great array of vegetation. How did they do it?
The museum is behind a wall of 2.5 cm glass to reduce sound from the busy Quai Branly. The first three days were free. Just as well because swarms of maintenance people dragging cables, and curatorial staff busily writing on clipboards, were everywhere.
