Bill Graham > 27 RUE DES BLUETS. Our two room apartment, overlooking the street, is one flight up and includes the three tall soundproof windows to the left and the little one to the upper right. The studio is on its own little courtyard behind the apartment, thus is very calm.
Bill Graham > 27 RUE DES BLUETS. Guests arriving and punching in the access "digicode". I almost lost a camera with this acrobatic photo!
Bill Graham > STUDIO. View from entrance door looking over bed. TV on right with multizone CD/DVD reads films from North America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. Thirty some films are to left of patio door. Open door to left peeks into shower room/toilet. The overhead light is dimmable for "atmosphere, atmosphere" as the saying goes. So are the lights over the table and by the bed.
Bill Graham > STUDIO. View of private patio through tall French windows. Large closet on right holds clothes, suitcases, a steel safe, iron, vacuum cleaner. The table is oak and can fold down out of the way if need be. Air conditioning/heating unit is above can be remote controlled from bed. The picture over the table is by Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of my favorite French photographers. The light above can be dimmed.
Bill Graham > STUDIO. The bed (190x140cm) is in an alcove between the kitchen on the right and the entrance door which I built to keep out hallway noises and prevent the smell of smokers from seeping into the studio. On the left are oak bookshelves with TV which accesses the normal French channels and a CD/DVD player. Paris and French guidebooks are on shelf above and at top is a collection of books on the history of Paris from when she taught and ran a university program on this subject (before we started the B&B). Photo behind bed is a Cartier-Bresson of the Pont Neuf bridge on a misty morning.
Bill Graham > STUDIO. Equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave at left, counter with coffee maker, water boiler and toaster at left, and two burner gas stove top at right. Under counter is condensation washer/dryer. Soundproof double doors (middle) provide access to two room apartment when the same party has both.
Bill Graham > STUDIO. Shower room with gas heater (upper right) provides endless supply of hot water for those who like long hot showers.
Bill Graham > STUDIO. Kitchen cupboard opens onto dishware at right and things left by other occupants like coffee, tea, sugar, cooking oils, rice, flour, etc. As you use foods it is thoughtful to replace them.
Bill Graham > STUDIO. Shower is large (80 x 120cms) and has good pressure. Ecological bulbs over sink provide good illumination for makeup or shaving. To left is a photo of Mister Eiffel's Statue if Liberty before being dismantled and sent as a gift to the US. Further left is the door to the kitchen.
